The story of Roz and Lil. The closest of friends, they meet at school, share their wedding day, live on the same street and have children at the same time. After the women are parted from their husbands by divorce and death, each finds herself becoming the lover of the other's teenage son. The arrangement is a source of physical and emotional comfort for all, but how can something so unusual withstand the burdens of convention and time - and if an end must come, whom will it hurt the most?
